Jessica is a Literacy Specialist in a K-4 elementary school in Northeast Ohio, who has dedicated nearly ten years to assisting students facing challenges in reading. Her academic background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, a Master’s Degree in Education with a Leadership Endorsement from Walsh University, and a K-12 Reading Endorsement. In 2017, she received training in Orton-Gillingham through IMSE, sparking her interest in structured literacy. Jessica is also LETRS-trained and serves as a Local LETRS Facilitator in her school district. Most recently, she became a Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner. Alongside her passion for early literacy, she actively pursues leadership roles, participating in the 2019 Aspiring Principals Network, as well as the Ohio Teacher Leader Cohort 5 program. Jessica is the team leader for her building, representing her school at both district and county meetings. She fulfills the role of a literacy coach within her school and is on the board of the Northern Ohio International Dyslexia Association (NOBIDA). Jessica is also part of her district’s AI committee, which was formed this past school year to help integrate AI into their classrooms.
